Joe Biden opened the border and stuck you with the hospital bill.
Now Chip Roy wants to know exactly how much it cost you.
And hospitals that refuse to answer will lose their federal healthcare funding entirely.
Washington Has Been Running a Cover-Up
For decades, American taxpayers have paid the bill for illegal alien healthcare – and Washington made sure you never knew how much it was.
No national data.
No federal reporting requirements.
Just crowded emergency rooms, exploding healthcare costs, and your insurance premiums going up every year while politicians told you illegal immigration was essentially free.

Florida cracked the lid open in 2023.
DeSantis signed a law requiring hospitals to collect immigration status from patients and submit quarterly totals to the state.
The first year of data came back at $566 million – just for hospital care for illegal aliens in a single state.
Texas followed under Governor Greg Abbott.
Texas hospitals recorded 313,742 visits from patients not lawfully present in the United States during fiscal year 2025 – costing taxpayers $1.05 billion.
That number is almost certainly low.
Texas hospitals only began mandatory reporting in November 2024, with September and October falling outside the reporting window entirely.
Roy's Bill Turns the Lights On Nationally
Rep. Chip Roy introduced the Illegal Alien Patient Reporting Act this week – and it is exactly what Florida and Texas proved works, scaled to the entire country.
Every hospital taking federal healthcare dollars would be required to ask patients their immigration status during intake.
“Federal taxpayers should be privy to the costs of illegal aliens admitted to hospitals that accept federal healthcare subsidies,” the bill summary states. “American taxpayers ought to know the full scope of how much they pay for illegal aliens’ healthcare costs.”

Patients would be told their answer doesn't affect their care and won't be reported to law enforcement – except when the patient is suspected of or charged with a crime.
Hospitals would then submit quarterly totals to the secretaries of Health and Human Services and Homeland Security.
Every October 1, the HHS secretary would send Congress a full national accounting of the preceding year's costs.
Any hospital that refuses to comply gets cut off from federal healthcare programs.
"For years, Americans have watched overcrowded emergency rooms, rising healthcare costs, and strained hospital resources while being kept in the dark about the potential billions of taxpayer dollars spent on healthcare for those who are in the country illegally," Roy told Breitbart News.
“That lack of accountability is unacceptable and absurd,” Roy continued. “The Illegal Alien Patient Reporting Act delivers the transparency and accountability Americans deserve by ensuring hospitals report the extent to which illegal aliens are adding to the fiscal burden of our healthcare system.”
The national cost estimate is at least $21 billion per year – and FAIR puts the figure at over $40 billion annually when at least ten million illegal aliens who crossed under Biden are factored in.
Washington never required hospitals to track it, so Washington never had to admit it.
Democrats Cannot Argue With a Number They Helped Hide
RJ Hauman of the National Immigration Center for Enforcement nailed the politics of this perfectly.
"If Democrats and their sanctuary allies really believe illegal aliens 'pay their way,' they should have no problem proving it," Hauman said.

They won't prove it because the numbers won't support it.
Democrats spent years telling you that worrying about these costs made you a bigot.
Roy's bill calls that bluff at the national level.
Every quarter, the data will come in.
Every year, Congress will get the report.
And every American will finally know the number Washington has been hiding since the day the border opened.
