Christopher Steele is the ex-British spy who put together the fake news Russia dossier.
The FBI used it as the basis to obtain a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign.
And news just broke that Steele made a surprise trip to America that should make Trump nervous.
In October 2016, Steele appeared the State Department and briefed key officials on his findings.
The Daily Caller reports:
“Based upon our review of the visitor logs at the State Department, Mr. Steele visited the State Department, briefing officials on the dossier in October 2016,” Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr said during a hearing held to review the U.S. government’s response to Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
Steele’s visit to Foggy Bottom in Washington, D.C., prior to the election has not been previously reported.
Burr revealed Steele’s visit during an exchange with Victoria Nuland, who served as assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian Affairs in former President Barack Obama’s administration.
This startling development means the Obama administration was neck deep in the scheme to spy in the Trump administration.
The stain from this scandal just spread beyond the intelligence community and the FBI.
Key Obama officials held high level meetings with a British spy to dig up dirt on Trump and maybe swing the Presidential election in Hillary’s favor.
Critics are raising questions about if the Obama administration knew that the dossier was funded in part by the Clinton campaign.
And did they take part in a scheme to use partisan opposition gossip to frame Donald Trump for colluding with the Russians?
These are questions that will be answered as the Senate Intelligence Committee continues its investigation.
