Democrats believe Joe Biden’s strong poll numbers mean they are the dominant force in American politics.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and their allies want to see how far they can push things.
And now this Democrat Senator issued a challenge to Trump that no one saw coming.
California Senator Dianne Feinstein is drawing a line in the sand on the next coronavirus relief package.
Feinstein intends to introduce an amendment withholding any relief money from states that refuse to impose a universal mask mandate.
“Wearing masks in public should be mandatory. Period. Leader McConnell said the Senate will take up the next coronavirus economic relief bill later this month. At that time, I intend to offer an amendment to prohibit sending funds to states that haven’t adopted a statewide mask requirement,” Feinstein ranted.
Feinstein slammed states that don’t have mask mandates as the reason coronavirus cases are spiking.
“The situation is getting worse daily. Several states including California, Alabama and Montana already require masks in public. This should be universal. My hope has been that other governors would show the leadership to institute their own mask mandates, but so far that hasn’t happened. It’s time for Congress to step in,” Feinstein ranted.
But by including her home state of California as one of her examples of states already requiring masks, Feinstein defeated her own argument.
California has had a mask mandate for months and it is still a coronavirus hotspot.
Some so-called “experts,” Democrats claim, say masks will prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
But if that’s true, and masks are the key to “stopping the spread,” why is California now a hot spot?
