Title 42 is a public health policy invoked by former President Donald Trump that gives federal authorities the ability to swiftly deport illegal aliens to protect the country from the pandemic.
The policy was set to expire on Wednesday, but the Supreme Court issued a ruling keeping the policy in place temporarily after 19 Republican state attorneys general filed an appeal.
While Title 42’s expiration is in legal limbo, the Biden regime is planning for the policy to end.
The end of Title 42 could see border crossings jump from 7,000 per day to nearly 18,000 per day.
Henry Cuellar (D-TX) represents a House district on the border.
During an appearance on CBS’s Face the Nation, the Texas Democrat torched Joe Biden for botching the response to the border crisis.
“[The Biden administration] has been talking about this plan for the last two years,” Cuellar said. “They’ve been blaming the Republicans, they’ve been blaming Congress. When will it take effect?”
Biden officials have tried to pin the blame for the border crisis on Congressional Republicans refusing to support amnesty for illegal aliens.
Cuellar explained that Biden’s border plan ignored security and instead prioritized processing and shipping illegal aliens into the interior of the country.
“With all due respect, I’ve looked at that plan … it hasn’t worked,” Cuellar explained.
He said the Biden advisors who are pushing for so-called immigration reform, which is code for amnesty, aren’t doing the President any favors.
“President Obama didn’t have immigration reform, didn’t have all the things that people have been asking for, but he was able to manage the border in a much better place. President Biden can do this,” Cuellar said. “But with all due respect, I think his advisers are doing a disservice to him.”
With the border crisis spiraling out of control, Joe Biden is refusing to do his job and secure the border.
Instead, he’s using the crisis he created to make another attempt to try and ram amnesty through Congress.
The border crisis will continue to rage on because Joe Biden refuses to lift a finger to stop it.
