Joe Biden is trying to save the Democrats’ majority in Congress.
But Biden is facing a major obstacle.
And a liberal comedian obliterated Joe Biden by stating this simple fact.
Popular podcast host Joe Rogan and YouTuber Chris Williamson tore into the Biden administration over attempts to change the definition of a recession.
Second quarter Gross Domestic Product numbers showed the economy contracting by 0.9 percent.
That followed a 1.6 decline in GDP in the first quarter.
Two consecutive quarters of negative GDP is the accepted definition of a recession.
But staring that reality in the face, Biden and the Democrats attempted to change the definition of a recession because they know a shrinking economy would destroy their chances in the Midterm elections.
Rogan blasted Biden, saying “they’re literally changing the definition, which is terrible and it should be pushed back against in a big way.”
Rogan told his massive audience that Biden trying to pretend the economy isn’t in a recession by changing the meaning of the word should infuriate all Americans.
“It should be something that people get angry about, like, ‘Hey, you’re f*cking with definitions in order to pretend that you’re doing a good job,'” Rogan added.
Rogan called what Biden was trying to do “gaslighting,” adding that this was a far bigger deal than “people would think that it’s trivial, ’cause they are talking about this economic downturn, but it’s not trivial because we’ve always used that term ‘recession.’”
Rogan explained that America always had an accepted definition of a recession so that there could be an objective judgment as to if the current economic policies are working.
“We’ve always used that term to define whether or not the economic policies that are currently in place and whether or not the management and the government has done a good job of making sure that the economy stays in a good place.”
“They definitely haven’t done that,” Rogan continued.
Williamson accused Biden of playing 1984-style word games since his economic policies ended with disastrous results.
“If you can’t control the economy, you might as well just control the language and hope for the best,” Williamson interjected.
“What a bunch of weasels,” Rogan shot back.
Democrats know that facing the electorate in the middle of a recession pays a massive price at the ballot box for the Party in power.
That’s why Democrats are so desperate to change the definition of a recession.
