Joe Biden’s humiliation in Afghanistan grows by the day.
Biden’s failure to execute an orderly withdrawal left thousands of Americans stranded in Afghanistan as potential hostages.
And now this secret meeting with the Taliban just blew up in Joe Biden’s face.
Joe Biden floated the possibility of extending the U.S. military mission in Afghanistan past the August 31 withdrawal deadline in order to evacuate all Americans that the Biden administration previously left behind.
The Taliban immediately rejected that idea with a Taliban spokesman promising consequences if American troops stayed in Afghanistan beyond August 31.
In response, the Biden administration dispatched CIA Director William Burns to Afghanistan to meet with the Taliban in hopes of brokering a deal to allow the American military to remain in Afghanistan to evacuate U.S. citizens after the August 31 deadline.
The Washington Post reported:
CIA Director William J. Burns held a secret meeting Monday in Kabul with the Taliban’s de facto leader, Abdul Ghani Baradar, in the highest-level face-to-face encounter between the Taliban and the Biden administration since the militants seized the Afghan capital, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive diplomacy.
President Biden dispatched his top spy, a veteran of the Foreign Service and the most decorated diplomat in his Cabinet, amid a frantic effort to evacuate people from Kabul international airport in what Biden has called “one of the largest, most difficult airlifts in history.”
Biden and Burns’ effort failed in predictable, yet spectacular fashion.
After Burns concluded his meeting, the Taliban restated that the August 31 deadline is redline and all U.S. troops must be out of Afghanistan by that date.

The Taliban also announced that no Afghans would be allowed to leave the country.

Even Democrats like Congressman Adam Schiff admitted there is little chance the administration can evacuate all Americans out of Afghanistan by August 31.
Because of Joe Biden’s incompetence in not evacuating American civilians before the military, Joe Biden provided the Taliban with thousands of potential hostages in the form of U.S citizens and that allows the Taliban to dictate the terms of the U.S. withdrawal.
