The border crisis unfolding under President Joe Biden has the Border Patrol stretched to the breaking point.
During the last Fiscal Year, Border Patrol agents encountered a record 2.7 million illegal aliens trying to sneak into the country.
Since Border Patrol agents are overwhelmed with processing illegal aliens, Biden is turning to other federal law enforcement agencies to try and help fix this disaster.
The Biden regime ordered a mandatory deployment of U.S. Air Marshals to the border to assist agents with processing illegal aliens.
Air Marshals are being pulled off of commercial flights right before the busy holiday travel season.
99% of commercial flights will be without an Air Marshal, one-eight of the usual coverage.
But dozens of Air Marshals are threatening to protest the border deployment order and disobey Biden’s command.
Air Marshal National Council President David Londo told the Washington Examiner that the move would be unprecedented by federal law enforcement.
“The rank and file Air Marshals are going to refuse to deploy and risk termination,” Londo said. “You’re almost going to have a mutiny of a federal agency, which is unheard of.”
Last year, the Biden regime asked Air Marshals to volunteer for 30-day stints at the border before making it mandatory this year.
“Morale is so destroyed from this,” Londo added. “I’ve never seen anything like this.”
In a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, TSA Administrator David Pekoske, and Federal Air Marshal Service Director Tirrell Stevenson, Londo wrote that Air Marshals had lost “confidence” in Biden official’s leadership.
“As it stands today, we believe that many FAMs will refuse to deploy, believing the order is reckless and leaving our country vulnerable to attack,” Londo wrote. “On behalf of our membership, stop these dangerous and irresponsible deployments before our adversaries take advantage of the opportunity this policy has provided.”
Other law enforcement groups are backing the Air Marshals in their protest against the border deployment.
The National Association of Police Organizations made a statement backing the Air Marshals against the Biden regime.
“The Federal Air Marshal Service is understaffed and is covering the fewest number of flights since before September 11, 2001,” the association said. “We strongly question the decision by the Department of Homeland Security to divert much-needed aviation security to the southern border especially as we enter the busiest travel season of the year, particularly as a federal emergency has not been declared at the border.”
The Biden regime is pulling the Air Marshals off of their vital mission of protecting flights in order to handle menial work at the border.
Air Marshals have been heating up food for illegal aliens and driving them to the hospital.
