Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defended Hunter Biden and it backfired in this humiliating way

Democrats are trying to play defense against the impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden.

But leftists are playing a bad hand.

And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defended Hunter Biden and it backfired in this humiliating way.

Ocasio-Cortez defends Hunter Biden following closed door testimony

Hunter Biden testified to the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees as part of the impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden.

Democrats raced out of the hearing to find the nearest TV camera to try and spin what they heard.

Ocasio-Cortez was naturally among the first to draw a media crowd.

“What we just witnessed over the last hour was, I think, a deep sea fishing expedition,” Ocasio-Cortez ranted. “The Republican case has completely fallen apart over the last several weeks.”

Ocasio-Cortez stuck to the Democrat Party script about how Republicans supposedly keep coming up empty in their investigation into Joe Biden’s links to Hunter Biden’s businesses.

“They [Republicans] are now trying to scramble to find anything to substantiate their fairytale — is what we should call this,” Ocasio-Cortez added.

“But I think, more disturbingly, what we are seeing is just a complete and inappropriate expedition into the president’s son and for matters in subjects that are completely unrelated to an impeachment investigation,” Ocasio-Cortez concluded.

“And I think it is extremely disturbing to see the lack of professionalism [and] the lack of grounding and the abuse of public resources and abuse of public power in order to pursue something that truly, whose points at this juncture, is very unclear,” Ocasio-Cortez concluded.

Legal experts scoff at Democrats trying to spin Hunter Biden testimony

Over on Fox News, George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley got a chuckle out of Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow Democrats trying to defend the indefensible.

Turley told viewers that Democrats keep ignoring the fact that Hunter Biden is constantly shifting his story and moving the goal posts about Joe Biden’s involvement in his businesses.

“Well you’ll notice he does not say that my father did not know about my business activities as he was flying on Air Force Two, for example,” Turley explained. “He has previously contradicted his father, who maintained throughout the campaign that he had no knowledge of his son’s business dealings. Most of us believe that is now patently false, but you’ll notice the nuanced language in all of this.”

Turley ridiculed the fact that Hunter Biden could show up with the severed head of Viktor Shokin – the prosecutor Joe Biden demanded the President of Ukraine fire or lose $1 billion in American foreign aid and who was also investigating Burisma for corruption – and Democrats would still find a way to make excuses for Hunter Biden.

“And it left a lot of us sort of chuckling,” Turley concluded. “It made it seem like he could pull out the severed head of Viktor Shokin and they would still say, ‘Well, thank you for being so forthcoming. I think we can move along now.’ I mean, it was just a bizarre and I think a really badly timed effort. So we have to see how he answers some of these very specific questions.”
