Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just got destroyed by the last person she ever suspected

Not all Democrats are thrilled with New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Ocasio-Cortez proved to be a divisive figure.

And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just got destroyed by the last person she ever suspected.

Retiring Florida Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy is what passes for a moderate in today’s Democrat Party.

Even though Murphy votes the standard left-wing line, she represents a lean-Red district.

That’s why Murphy will sometimes support legislation like Kate’s Law – which increases the penalties for illegal aliens who commit crimes in America after already facing deportation.

In an interview with POLITICO, Congresswoman Murphy described how the Democrat Party grew more intolerant of dissent after taking the majority in 2018, when “Squad” members Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib began asserting a greater role in shaping the Party’s message and policy agenda.

“My first term … there was a lot more tolerance for, ‘Do what you need to do to hold your seat, and come back because we’re trying to build towards [a] majority,’” Murphy stated. “With us being in the majority, that tolerance eroded a bit. It’s unfortunate, because I think in order for us as Democrats to hold the majority, you have to be able to win in seats like mine and in Redder seats. That means you have to cut your members a little bit of leeway to vote their district. This march towards Party unity is going to be detrimental to our ability to lead.”

Murphy claimed the Democrat Party flew off the rails in trying to slap together Joe Biden’s nearly $5 trillion socialist spending bill.

Congresswoman Murphy claimed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi caved to leftists like Ocasio-Cortez and rammed a massive spending bill through the House.

The problem was the bill can’t pass the Senate and is politically unpopular.

“I can’t tell you the number of times I said, ‘You can’t keep promising rainbows and unicorns when your political reality is such narrow margins in the House and a dead-even Senate,’” Murphy stated. “They took the difference between rainbows and unicorns and political reality — which is anger and disappointment — and turned that anger and disappointment against their own members.”

When Donald Trump campaigned against Joe Biden in 2020, he warned that Biden would serve as a rubber stamp for the radical Left.

Now even retiring Democrats admit Trump was right about the socialists taking over the Party.
