Trouble is brewing in the Democrat Party.
It’s coming at the worst possible time ahead of the Midterm elections.
And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez pulled one stunt that made Nancy Pelosi’s life a nightmare.
Campaign season is kicking into high gear with the Midterm elections right around the corner.
One of the biggest problems for Democrats heading into November is the spike in crime across the country.
Democrats unleashed a crime tsunami on America after they went all-in on supporting soft-on-crime policies.
After George Floyd’s death, the radical Left, led by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), started championing the “Defund the Police” movement.
The rest of the Democrat Party quickly joined in on supporting this disastrous policy.
As a result of this left-wing insanity, crime has skyrocketed to unprecedented levels.
Democrats have discovered that supporting defunding the police was a big political loser in the midst of a nationwide crime wave.
The Party began backpedaling from their support of defunding the police to try and save face in November.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi declared that the “Defund the Police movement is dead,” and Joe Biden proposed increasing police funding in his State of the Union Address.
To protect vulnerable Democrats facing tough races this fall, the Party came up with an Election Year stunt to save their political bacon.
After supporting defunding the police for years, Democrats wanted to pass a new police funding bill to try to take the issue off of the table.
Vulnerable Democrats could point to the new police funding bill to insulate themselves against Defund the Police attacks.
But far-Left progressive Democrats threw a monkey wrench in Nancy Pelosi’s plans to pass a new police funding bill.
Nancy Pelosi announced that plans to vote on a new police funding bill in the House have been scrapped by Democrats.
Progressives and the Congressional Black Caucus balked about a lack of police accountability measures in the bill.
According to Pelosi, the focus for house Democrats is going to be on passing the Inflation Reduction Act.
“This week, our focus must remain on passing the [Inflation Reduction Act], as conversations continue on finding consensus for a robust public safety package,” Pelosi said.
This is the second time in recent months that Democrats have pushed back a vote on a new police funding bill.
With time running out before the Midterm elections and house Democrats divided over the issue, it appears the bill has little chance of passing.
While Democrats don’t have time to increase police funding, they somehow found time to hire 87,000 new IRS agents to harass Americans with the Inflation Reduction Act.
After years of supporting defunding the police, the Democrats will have to own the consequences of this disastrous movement in the Midterm elections.
