Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took Washington by surprise.
It’s causing major problems on the left.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez refused to sign one letter that revealed one giant Democrat Civil War.
29 members of the Congressional Black Caucus signed a letter from radical leftwing Congressman Mondaire Jones of New York demanding Joe Biden bring back to America black and brown illegal aliens that were deported.
“We write to urge you to ensure that everyone unjustly deported has a meaningful opportunity to return home. Particularly in light of the immigration system’s harm to Black and brown immigrant communities, it is essential that you use the discretion at your disposal to establish an open, transparent, and reliable process for reevaluating and reversing wrongful removals,” the letter read.
The Democrats’ letter claimed returning these illegal aliens was an act of “racial justice.”
“For decades, the U.S. government has exercised its power by enforcing U.S. civil immigration laws aggressively — initiating removals, detaining immigrants, and conducting deportation proceedings that lack even minimal due process. Now is the time to turn the resources and power of the U.S. government toward repairing these harms in the name of racial justice for Black and brown immigrants,” the letter continued.
But there was an interesting split in the Congressional Black Caucus and the “Squad.”
20 members of the Congressional Black Caucus did not sign this letter.
And neither did Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Rashida Tlaib and Cori Bush – both “Squad” members – also did not sign the letter.
Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib and Bush not signing stuck out like a sore thumb.
They are three Democrats most associated with open borders, and many would assume they would happily sign on to a letter demanding the government return deported illegal aliens to America.
But they did not sign the letter.
“Squad” watchers have noted that Talib at least wants to defund immigration agencies just as Democrats nationwide have backed defunding police.
But, now the question is to figure out if that’s the reason she and Ocasio-Crotez and Bush refused to sign the Congressional Black Caucus’ letter to recall deported illegal aliens that are black and brown.
