Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez excels at drawing attention to herself.

But she won’t want to show her face in public for a while after one blunder.

And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was fuming after this humiliating failure was exposed.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is in the middle of another major scandal.

The socialist Congresswoman is facing a House Ethics investigation over an appearance at the 2021 Met Gala in New York City.

The Met Gala is a star-studded, high society charity event to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

Attendees dress in over-the-top attire for the event and Ocasio-Cortez was no exception.

She wore a designer dress with the words “Tax the Rich” adorned on it.

But after an investigation, the House Office of Congressional Ethics found “substantial reason to believe” that Ocasio-Cortez improperly received $35,000 tickets from Vogue Magazine to attend the event.

Ocasio-Cortez loves to rail against the rich but was more than happy to mingle with the rich and powerful along with Hollywood celebrities at the Met Gala.

As if dealing with a Congressional ethics investigation wasn’t enough, more embarrassing details are coming out about her Met Gala appearance.

Not only did Ocasio-Cortez potentially violate House ethics rules to attend the A-List event, she tried to skip out paying small businesses that helped her get dressed up for it.

“It appears several thousands of dollars’ worth of services may have remained unpaid absent the [Office of Congressional Ethics] initiating this review,” the ethics report stated.

She waited until six months after the ethics investigation to pay a $344.85 makeup bill for the event.

Her makeup artist sent the bill to a collections agency, which claimed it was “EXTREMELY overdue.”

A $477.73 bill for her hairstyling went unpaid for months until the ethics investigation started.

An employee of her hairstylist emailed Ocasio-Cortez’s staff saying that “it would look terrible if we had to file a complaint with the NY Dept of Labor against Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.”

Ocasio-Cortez waited eight months to pay a bill for transportation from the Bronx to the luxurious Carlyle Hotel for $180.

Her $4,602.92 hotel bill wasn’t reimbursed until eight months after the Met Gala took place.

The only person who got paid the full value for the services upfront was Ocasio-Cortez’s manicurist.

One of her staffers told Congressional investigators, “The woman there said she . . . would need to be paid by cash” upfront.

Stiffing vendors for her big night out on the town wasn’t the only eyebrow-raising move that investigators found.

Her campaign staff negotiated down the value of her “Tax the Rich” dress rental, which likely cost over $10,000, from $1,300 to $300.

Staffers “could not explain why the gown rental costs were reduced” to Congressional investigators.

While Ocasio-Cortez, a self-proclaimed socialist, claims to care about the working class, she tried to stiff paying small businesses to hobnob with the rich and famous.

As always with socialists, sacrifice is for the little people.
