An Illegal Alien Murderer Fled the Country After a Soros Prosecutor Helped Him Get a Passport

Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney Steve Descano just let a man who stabbed his landlord to death walk out of a Virginia psych ward and board a one-way flight to Tajikistan.

That's not a headline from a satire site.

And Fairfax taxpayers are demanding to know who bought the ticket the illegal alien murderer used to flee the country.

The Man Who Said "I Am Guilty" and Still Walked Free

In 2019, Abdulloi Toshpulodzoda – an illegal alien from Tajikistan – stabbed his landlord Mohammad Hemmatian to death in their Vienna, Virginia home.

When investigators arrived, they found Toshpulodzoda covered in blood from head to toe.

He told police four words: "I am guilty."

Despite that confession, a 2022 trial ended with a not guilty verdict by reason of insanity.

His attorneys argued he was "fixated on religious topics" and suffered from delusions intertwined with Islam.

He was committed to the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute, and Fairfax County taxpayers were placed on the hook for his care – including, eventually, a county-funded apartment.

A Soros Prosecutor's Gift to a Killer

In 2024, Descano's office helped arrange for Toshpulodzoda to travel to the Tajikistan embassy in Washington, D.C. – a 35-minute drive from the facility – for the purpose of obtaining a foreign passport.

His chief of staff later told The Daily Wire the office assisted with the passport visit "for documentary purposes."

A man who confessed to murder – then beat the rap through an insanity finding – was helped by the county prosecutor to get the one document he needed to disappear forever.

On June 29, 2026, Fairfax County Circuit Court Judge Stephen Shannon ruled that Toshpulodzoda "remained mentally ill and in need of inpatient hospitalization" and required further court approval before any release.

Days after that ruling, the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute issued Toshpulodzoda what court records describe as an "unaccompanied community visit" lasting 48 hours.

He had a taxpayer-funded apartment waiting for him.

He went to Dulles instead.

Covered in Blood and Now in Dushanbe

On July 6, 2026, Toshpulodzoda left NVMHI on his pass, drove to Washington Dulles International Airport, and boarded a Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul.

From Istanbul, he continued to Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

Someone else bought the ticket in his name.

They even sprung for a window seat upgrade.

"The Acquittee failed to return to NVMHI on July 8, 2026, as required," the court filing states.

The facility declared him an escapee, pulled his pass, and alerted state and federal authorities.

By then, he was gone.

The Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney's Office filed a motion seeking a warrant enforceable beyond Virginia's borders and confirmed that Toshpulodzoda "will be arrested once he returns to the United States."

He's in Tajikistan.

This Is Exactly Who Steve Descano Is

This is not Descano's first rodeo.

The Soros-funded prosecutor – who received roughly two-thirds of his $1 million in 2019 campaign funding from two Soros-backed organizations – has presided over a Fairfax County crime wave that should disqualify him from ever holding office again.

Abdul Jalloh was arrested more than 30 times in Fairfax County, including for malicious wounding, before Descano repeatedly dismissed his violent charges.

Jalloh then allegedly stabbed Stephanie Minter, a 41-year-old mother, to death at a bus stop in February 2026.

The Fairfax County Police Department had warned Descano's office multiple times that Jalloh was dangerous.

In May 2026, the Trump DOJ opened a federal civil rights investigation into Descano's office for allegedly offering preferential treatment to violent illegal immigrants over American citizens.

Jim Jordan had Descano in the hot seat at a congressional hearing – and the prosecutor couldn't bring himself to answer whether Americans are safer when criminal illegal aliens are deported.

Now this.

The Trump administration needs to come down hard on Fairfax County and Virginia's Democrat leadership.

Democrat Governor Abigail Spanberger appointed the commissioner overseeing the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute.

Every link in this chain – the insanity verdict, the passport, the unsupervised pass, the flight out of Dulles – runs through Democrat-controlled institutions in a Democrat-run state.

And a man who said "I am guilty" is free, thousands of miles away, while the people responsible face no consequences whatsoever.
