Sen. Rand Paul released more than 1,100 pages of Anthony Fauci's private pandemic diary this week, and the bombshells keep coming.
Buried in those pages is a November 2021 entry where Fauci recounts a personal call from Barack Obama.
Trump Jr. had been selling merchandise mocking Fauci – mugs and t-shirts referencing claims about taxpayer-funded puppy experiments.
Obama called to console him.
That's when the former president of the United States, the man who lectured America for two terms about civility and the better angels of our nature, told Fauci that Donald Trump Jr. is "a f—ing moron."

Then he apologized for his language.
The diary entry goes further.
Obama told Fauci that Donald Trump himself was "a hopeless idiot who was a pathologic liar."
Obama was furious that moderate Republicans weren't defending Fauci from what he called "terrible, slanderous behavior."
This is the man who gave a 2009 Nobel Peace Prize speech about elevating global discourse.
The Diary Full of Secrets Obama Thought Were Safe
Fauci's diary is about a man who told Congress one story and wrote a completely different one in his journal.
Paul's office released documents showing Fauci was privately told on January 31, 2020, that leading virologists had serious doubts about a natural origin – with nearly half the scientists on that initial call concluding the virus appeared to be "constructed."
Fauci spent the following months publicly dismissing the lab leak theory as a dangerous fringe idea.
He testified under oath that he had never funded gain-of-function research.

The diary tells a different story – documenting his private defensiveness over exactly those funding questions tied to EcoHealth Alliance and the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
When Rand Paul forced Fauci to appear before the Senate on Wednesday and asked him to explain the contradiction, Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right not to answer.
More than 100 times.
Paul announced a contempt vote for next week.
The Confession Obama and Fauci Didn't Know Was Coming
Here's what nobody in the Washington establishment understood when Fauci started keeping that diary.
Every private opinion gets written down eventually.
Obama privately told journalists in January 2017 – days before Trump's first inauguration – that Republican voters were motivated by "regional resentment" and that there are "obviously some racial elements" baked into conservative politics.
He said it off the record.
The Justice Department released those comments anyway through a FOIA request.
Now Fauci's diary has handed Paul something even more valuable – Obama on the record calling the sitting president's son a profanity, while simultaneously playing the role of national healer for the cameras.
The same man who called Trump a "pathologic liar" in private was shaking hands at climate conferences and collecting speaking fees that year.
Democrats have spent five years insisting the Fauci attacks were partisan theater.
The diary proves those attacks were justified – and that the people closest to the story knew it, even if they only said so when they thought no one was writing it down.
