Donald Trump and Barack Obama have been political enemies for years.
But no one knew how bad it was.
Now Barack Obama is revealing his true thoughts about Donald Trump in this bombshell book.
Former President Obama used his new 700 page memoir A Promised Land to settle scores and attack his enemies.
Chief among them was Donald Trump.
Obama attacked Trump’s 2016 campaign as a “promised an elixir for the racial anxiety” of “millions of Americans spooked by a black man in the White House.”
In the book, Obama claimed that Trump conjured up “the dark spirits that had long been lurking on the edges of the modern Republican party – xenophobia, anti-intellectualism, paranoid conspiracy theories, an antipathy toward black and brown folks.”
“It was as if my very presence in the White House had triggered a deep-seated panic, a sense that the natural order had been disrupted. Which is exactly what Donald Trump understood when he started peddling assertions that I had not been born in the United States and was thus an illegitimate president,” Obama added.
It’s typical of Obama to brand his opponents as racists.
Obama excelled at that for eight years in the White House.
But it’s also not true.
Donald Trump roused the spirits of working class Americans of all races.
In the 2020 election – despite a four year smear campaign to brand him as a racist – Donald Trump won the highest share of the nonwhite vote for any Republican since 1960.
President Trump grew his support with blacks, Hispanics, Asians and homosexuals – all of whom would be surprised to learn the animating force of their vote was racism and the rejection of the fact that a black man once held the office of the Presidency for eight years.
