Obama went directly after Lake while campaigning for Democrat candidates in Phoenix, Arizona.
“This isn’t a reality show. If Kari Lake is your Governor, we know what she’ll be focused on — because Donald Trump told us,” Obama said. “What’s the worst that could happen?”
Lake is running on an America First platform of election integrity and strong border security in a state that’s been hammered by the Biden border crisis.
Obama tried to attack Lake over her 20 plus year career as a local news anchor in Phoenix.
“Listen, if we hadn’t just elected somebody whose main qualification was being on TV, you could see maybe giving it a shot,” Obama said. “What’s the worst that could happen?”
“Well now we know. It just doesn’t work out just because somebody’s been on TV,” Obama concluded.
Obama, who spent his Presidency hobnobbing with celebrities, completely missed the irony of attacking a candidate for being a celebrity.
Kari Lake’s campaign fired back at Obama after he launched his lame attack on the Republican gubernatorial candidate.
“If Katie Hobbs actually cared about the people of Arizona, she would take Kari Lake on herself and debate her, instead of hiding behind a former President who lost Arizona twice,” a campaign spokesperson bluntly stated.
Democrat candidate Katie Hobbs has refused to debate Lake to avoid getting humiliated by the charismatic former TV personality.
