Barack Obama just called the Ilhan Omar investigation "appalling."
But his own FBI found the evidence.
And the New York Times just confirmed that Barack Obama’s DOJ found evidence of Ilhan Omar’s sham marriage and buried it for a decade.
The Evidence Obama's Team Found – and Killed
The FBI and Department of Homeland Security opened an investigation into Omar's 2009 marriage in the summer of 2016 – during Barack Obama's presidency – and found evidence it was fraudulent.
That marriage produced a green card for Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, a man the feds suspected was her biological brother.
The case died not because the evidence was weak.

It died because prosecutors said the felony fell outside a five-year statute of limitations.
Let that be the lesson: commit immigration fraud early enough, and the Obama Justice Department will give you a pass.
But the statute of limitations problem may not protect Omar after all.
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin has said investigators could cite the marriage in a broader family immigration fraud conspiracy case – a framework that could put deportation back on the table.
Tom Homan said it plainly: investigators have a "strong case."
The Obama-Appointed US Attorney Who Killed the Story
In August 2016, as Omar's first state legislative campaign was hanging by a thread, Fox 9 investigative reporter Tom Lyden broke the story that federal agents were looking into her immigration history.
Omar's campaign went into crisis mode.
A criminal defense attorney working for her called Obama-appointed U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger.
Luger wrote a letter addressed to that attorney – not to the public – stating his office was not investigating Omar.
The campaign immediately weaponized that letter.
The Star Tribune ran with it.

Fox 9 scrubbed the story.
The media frenzy died.
Omar won her race.
Luger was later rewarded by Joe Biden with the same U.S. Attorney appointment.
What Luger's letter did not say: that the FBI and DHS had already been building a case against her for months.
Because he couldn't say that – and apparently didn't want to.
This Goes Way Beyond the Marriage
What's unfolding now extends well past the 2009 marriage and the question of who Elmi really is.
Federal agents raided her Washington home in October 2026.
The sealed search warrant listed conspiracy, false statements on immigration paperwork, and immigration fraud as the potential crimes under investigation.
Questions now extend to whether Omar – or her father – lied about her age to secure naturalized citizenship as a minor, and whether her father misrepresented his reasons for seeking refugee status.
In a recent court filing, the Justice Department referred to Omar not as Ilhan Omar but as Ilhan Nur Said Elmi – treating "Omar" as an alias.
That is not a clerical error.
That is the Justice Department telling a federal court it believes her legal name is her former husband's name – the man she insists is not her brother.
Elmi himself left the United States rather than provide documentation proving the marriage was legitimate when it came time to make his status permanent.
A guilty man's move, or an innocent one's?
What a Decade of Cover-Up Looks Like
For ten years, anyone who raised these questions got the same treatment.
"Right-wing conspiracy theory."
"Debunked."
"Racist smear."

The media ran that play because it worked.
Luger's letter gave them cover in 2016.
Omar's identity gave them cover every year after that.
And Obama himself called the current investigation "appalling."
The man whose own Justice Department found evidence of the crime is now outraged that someone is actually trying to prosecute it.
Barack Obama. Ilhan Omar. Andrew Luger. Joe Biden rewarded Luger with the same appointment.
These people protected each other for a decade – and the only reason you know any of it is because Trump won.
