Chuck Schumer counted on unanimous Democrat support in his plan to obstruct Donald Trump’s agenda.
That was just blown to bits.
And Chuck Schumer could not believe who just stabbed him in the back.
Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema won an upset victory last November.
Many Republicans think it was the result of voter fraud.
That victory led fake news pundits to hail the fact as evidence that Arizona was turning blue.
But they spoke too soon.
Rather than vote the straight Democrat “resistance” line, Sinema joined Republicans to confirm two of Donald Trump’s judicial nominees.
The Daily Caller reports:
Democratic Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema voted “yes” Wednesday on two of four U.S. district judges up for Senate confirmation.
Sinema was one of only three Democrats to vote to confirm Trump appointee Kenneth D. Bell to be U.S. district judge for the Western District of North Carolina.
Bell, a former North Carolina assistant U.S. attorney and current partner with McGuireWoods, LLP, a Charlotte, North Carolina law firm, was confirmed by a 55 – 43 vote with two senators — California Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris and Republican North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis — not voting.
Additionally, the Arizona senator voted yes to confirm former Clarence Thomas clerk Carl Nichols to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Nichols also won his confirmation by a 55-43 vote.
Democrats and the media expect Joe Biden – or whoever is the Democrat nominee – to make a strong play for Arizona.
But Sinema’s voting for Trump’s judges suggests that any Democrat running as a radical socialist – as the Democrat nominee will be forced to do – is a fool’s errand.
