Chuck Schumer stood on the Supreme Court steps and told the justices they would pay the price.
Someone in California heard that and started loading his truck.
And what Capitol Police found parked outside the Supreme Court on Tuesday will show you exactly where the Left's rhetoric leads.
A Full-Size Guillotine Parked Outside the Supreme Court
The suspect, Philan-Tam-Duy Le, 35, of Julian, California – a small mountain town about 60 miles northeast of San Diego – was arrested by Capitol Police on August 25 just after 3 p.m. when officers spotted his illegally parked truck on East Capitol Street, directly in front of the Supreme Court, the Capitol building, and the Library of Congress.
His brother Kelvin told reporters the guillotine was probably a "symbol of disapproval" and that Le was "unhappy with the state of politics."
A symbol of disapproval.
The guillotine – the machine the French Revolution used to behead thousands of nobles, a king, and a queen – is apparently just how you express your feelings about judges you don't like.

Le was charged with one count of carrying a dangerous weapon.
He didn't wake up and grab this from the garage.
He built or acquired a full-size working beheading apparatus, loaded it onto his truck, and spent days driving cross-country to park it outside the building that houses the nine justices the left has spent years calling illegitimate, MAGA puppets, and threats to democracy.
And now his brother is on TV calling it a symbol of disapproval – as if the symbol required no explanation.
Chuck Schumer Told Him It Would Pay Off
The Left didn't build this alone.
They had help from the top.
In 2020, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer stood on the steps of the Supreme Court and told Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh directly that they had "released the whirlwind" and would "pay the price" if they ruled against the left's preferred abortion precedent.
That was a United States Senator – on the court's own steps – threatening sitting justices with personal consequences for their rulings.
What followed was predictable to anyone paying attention.
Left-wing activists showed up at Kavanaugh's home intending to intimidate him.
In June 2022, Nicholas John Roske traveled from Simi Valley, California to Kavanaugh's house carrying a firearm, a tactical knife, zip ties, duct tape, a hammer, a crowbar, and lock-picking tools – and only turned back when he saw marshals posted outside.
Then came the man with the guillotine.
This is not a pattern.
It's a progression.
The Threats Are Off Every Chart They Have
Justice Elena Kagan told Congress this year that threats against the Supreme Court have risen 38% in 2026 alone.
Justice Amy Coney Barrett testified that she had to sit her children down and explain what a bulletproof vest was and why their mother needed to wear one – and that the court was requesting an additional $14.6 million just to keep the justices alive.
And the threat environment extends well beyond the court.
Secret Service Director Sean Curran – a 24-year veteran of the agency – told reporters last month that his agents had never seen anything like the current caseload: more than 10,000 threat investigations opened in 2026, up 40% from the year before, with mental health interventions involving would-be attackers running ten times higher than last year.
Chief Justice John Roberts documented in his 2024 Year-End Report that threats against federal judges have tripled over the past decade, with U.S. Marshals investigating more than 1,000 judge-specific threats in just the last five years.
Someone built a guillotine.
Someone drove it 2,700 miles.
Someone parked it outside the court.
Democrats Own This
For years, Democrats and their media allies have told the country that the Supreme Court is corrupt, illegitimate, a MAGA operation run by enemies of democracy who must be stopped at any cost.

Chuck Schumer called it "the MAGA Supreme Court."
Hakeem Jeffries called it "the corrupt conservative majority."
Their media allies have spent years framing every conservative ruling as an attack on women, on minorities, on democracy itself – not a legal decision you can disagree with, but an act of war requiring a response.
When you tell 350 million people that a building full of people represents an existential threat to everything they love – you are not engaging in political speech.
You are doing threat recruitment.
And Le drove 2,700 miles to answer the call.
