CNN reporters and hosts parroted leftist talking points about how the Freedom Convoy is an “insurrection” against the Canadian government.
Now one CNN star crossed a line.
And CNN just sent an awful message to the Freedom Convoy that will make your blood boil.
Juliette Kayyem, a former Obama administration Department of Homeland Security official, is currently a Harvard professor and CNN contributor.
Like many leftists, Kayyem is terrified of the power of the trucker protest to end the COVID police state citizens in countries like Canada have lived under for the last two years.
On social media, Kayyem lashed out and called for violence against the truckers.
Kayyem posted that governments should slash the trucker’s tires, steal their fuel, and arrest everyone involved.
“The convoy protest, applauded by right wing media as a “freedom protest,” is an economic and security issue now. The Ambassador Bridge link constitutes 28% of annual trade movement between US and Canada. Slash the tires, empty gas tanks, arrest the drivers, and move the trucks,” Kayyem wrote.
Violence was not enough.
Kayyem then wrote that governments should punish the protestors so severely that they could never work again.
“Trust me, I will not run out of ways to make this hurt: cancel their insurance; suspend their drivers licenses; prohibit any future regulatory certification for truckers, etc. Have we learned nothing? These things fester when there are no consequences,” Kayyem added.
After blowback on social media, Kayyem tried to claim she did not say what she clearly said and denied ever calling for violence against the Freedom Convoy.
“By others to suggest I was promoting vigilantism. I was not. People have the freedom to protest. Governments have the responsibility to protect public safety. That was what I intended to say,” Kayyem posted.
But the Biden administration was listening.
State-run media in Canada reported that the Biden administration demanded the Canadian government put down the Freedom Convoy by any means necessary.
“NEW – a White House official says members of the Biden administration held a series of high level calls with their Canadian counterparts, urging them to use their federal powers to end the blockades, offering the full support of the Department of Homeland Security,” state media reporter Katie Simpson of CBC posted on social media.
