Democrats had one bad response to Joe Biden staying in the race

Joe Biden won’t drop out of the 2024 election.

The polls keep getting worse and worse.

And Democrats had one bad response to Joe Biden staying in the race.

House Democrats’ caucus meeting turns ugly

House Democrats held a caucus meeting at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee headquarters to hash out their response to Joe Biden insisting he will remain the party’s nominee for President.

Biden said only the “Lord Almighty” could convince him to exit the race.

Congressman James Clyburn (D-SC) and the rest of the Congressional Black Caucus quickly rallied about Biden.

That key support squelched any internal push to pressure Biden to step down as the nominee.

Democrats began to realize the predicament they were in with Biden during the meeting.

Punchbowl News’s Jake Sherman reported one Democrat told him the meeting “felt like a funeral.”

Axios reported House Democrats were in tears over their belief that Biden at the top of the ticket meant doom in November.

“Just before House Democrats’ Tuesday morning ‘come-to-Jesus’ meeting on President Biden’s path forward, a smaller group of swing-district Democrats held what sources described as a despondent gathering with ‘actual tears,’” Axios reported.

Democrats weren’t bawling because they felt bad for Joe Biden.

Members cried over the belief they were staring into their political graves.

“One shell-shocked lawmaker who was present at the meeting would offer only one word to characterize it: ‘Intense,’” Axios also reported.

Contrary to public statements, Democrats understand the reality of the situation.

“Another described the mood as ‘pretty much unanimous’ that Biden has ‘got to step down,’ adding, ‘There were actual tears from people, and not for Biden,’” Axios’s report continued.

Democrat fears grow

National and swing state polling shows Donald Trump leading Biden across the board.

A Republican hasn’t led the polls after the July 4 holiday since the 2000 Presidential Election.

House Democrats are now at the acceptance stage of grief.

“As someone who wanted the reckoning and is really disappointed that it’s over, trust me: it’s over,” one Democrat Congressman told Axios.

The Bulwark’s Marc Caputo reported Democrat Members of Congress looking at polling showing them on track to lose as many as 20 seats in the House of Representatives.

If Donald Trump wins the White House, then Republicans will control the Senate.

The GOP is a virtual lock to win the open Senate seat race in West Virginia, meaning that with 50 seats, Trump’s Vice President would cast the tiebreaking 51st vote on legislation and nominations.

House Democrats are looking at Joe Biden tanking any chance of the Left holding a lever of power after the 2024 election and breaking out into actual tears.
