Democrats Just Put a Woman Who Wants to Abolish ICE Second in Line for the White House

Democrats ran Kamala Harris into the ground and still haven't figured out why.

Now the same party is moving a democratic socialist who spent the past eight years demanding ICE be scrapped into second place for 2028.

And JD Vance just explained exactly what that means for Republicans.

The Woman Who Wants to Scrap the Agency Protecting Your Family

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just overtook Marco Rubio in Polymarket's 2028 presidential election odds for the first time this year.

She's sitting at 13% – right behind Vance at 23% – with Rubio falling to 12%.

That means Democrat bettors are now more confident in AOC than in the Secretary of State of the United States.

Here's what those bettors are buying into: a congresswoman who has spent her entire career calling to abolish ICE, pushing Medicare for All that independent analysts have estimated would cost taxpayers over $30 trillion in its first decade, and championing a Green New Deal that would gut the American energy sector.

This isn't a pivot.

AOC hasn't moderated.

She told ABC News on August 2 she "hasn't ruled out" a presidential run while staying "focused on winning the midterms."

Translation: she's running.

JD Vance Already Called It

Vance said it out loud on The Michael Knowles Show back in June.

"I think it's got to be AOC," Vance said. "I know that's probably conventional wisdom."

He laid out the case: the Democrat Party's real power has migrated away from organized labor and into elite universities. Author David Brooks – not exactly a Trump ally – made the same observation.

And whoever controls that power center, Vance said, controls the nomination.

He's correct.

A University of New Hampshire poll of likely Democrat primary voters found 22% supporting AOC – edging out Pete Buttigieg at 21%.

The prediction markets are moving her direction.

And she's quietly building a coalition of progressive House members indebted to her for campaign surrogate work.

Kamala Harris – the actual party standard-bearer from 2024 – is polling at 4% on Polymarket.

That's how far the party has fallen.

They lost with Harris, so now they're ready to run someone who literally wants to eliminate the agency that catches child sex traffickers and deports violent criminal aliens.

This Is the Strongest Possible Opponent for Republicans

Let's be clear about what an AOC nomination means.

She runs on abolishing ICE – the agency Trump has used to rack up record-breaking deportations of violent criminals.

She runs on Medicare for All – a government takeover that would eliminate private health insurance for tens of millions of Americans.

She runs on the Green New Deal – shutting down oil and gas production while China and Russia laugh.

That's the platform.

Not a secret, fringe platform.

Her actual, stated, unapologetic platform since 2018.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin has already flagged what AOC's anti-ICE rhetoric has cost: a 413% increase in assaults on ICE officers.

That's the direct consequence of the "abolish ICE" movement AOC helped build.

And Democrats want to hand its founder the nuclear codes.

Vance at 23% against a democratic socialist who has never represented anything outside a deep-blue Bronx congressional district isn't a horse race.

It's a beatdown waiting to happen.

The Democrat Party had a choice after 2024.

They could have looked at why working-class voters fled, why Rust Belt states turned red, why even reliable blue counties cracked.

Instead, they're handing the wheel to a woman who thinks the answer to every problem is more government and higher taxes.

Republicans should send AOC a thank-you card.
