Donald Trump confirmed that this Fox News personality could be his running mate

Speculation is growing about who could join Donald Trump on the Republican ticket.

The former President revealed one shocking name that is in the running.

And Donald Trump confirmed that this Fox News personality could be his running mate.

The Vice President sweepstakes are heating up with the Republican Presidential Primary all but over.

Former President Donald Trump revealed some of the names on his shortlist to become his running mate during a Fox News town hall in South Carolina moderated by Laura Ingraham.

Ingraham mentioned some of the names that the audience had brought up as potential Vice Presidential picks to Trump.

“The audience has been asked about who they think would be a good choice and various names came up,” Ingraham said. “One was, of course, Vivek Ramaswamy, who’s made a big splash, [Republican Gov.] Ron DeSantis [of Florida], who is making an appearance today in South Carolina, Tim Scott, [Republican Rep. Byron Donalds [of Florida] and a big presence for [former Democratic Rep.] Tulsi Gabbard [of Hawaii], very interesting, and [Republican Gov.] Kristi Noem [of South Dakota], as well, I should say. Are they all on your shortlist?”

“They are,” Trump replied.

The crowd applauded when Gabbard and Noem were mentioned by Ingraham.

“They’re all solid,” Trump continued. “And I always say I want people with common sense because there’s so many things happening in this country that don’t make sense.”

The former President said that the “first quality” he’s looking for in a potential Vice President is if they would be “a good President because if something should happen, you have to have somebody that’s going to be a great President.”

Trump said that he thought the Vice Presidential pick didn’t really have any impact on the ticket outside of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin in 2008.

“You would like to get somebody to help you from the voters’ standpoint, and honestly, all of those people are good and solid,” Trump said about the names Ingraham mentioned.

Gabbard – a Fox News contributor and a 2020 Democrat Presidential candidate – was the surprising name that Trump confirmed was in the running.

She’s since left the Democrat Party and become a vocal critic of the hard Left turn it’s taken.

The former Hawaii Congresswoman has embraced many conservative positions since leaving office and championed an America First foreign policy that looks to avoid unnecessary foreign entanglements.

Gabbard would be a true wildcard pick to become Trump’s running mate.

After Trump mentioned her name at the Fox News town hall, it was announced that she would be headlining a fundraiser at his Mar-a-Lago resort according to The Hill.

Gabbard is scheduled to be the keynote speaker for the 917 Society fundraiser to celebrate the Constitution.

The battle to become Donald Trump’s Vice President is underway with the Republican Primary heading toward the finish line.
