The Black Lives Matter riots that swept the nation left cities in charred ruins.
Democrats then tried to blame Donald Trump.
But Donald Trump denied the Democrats on one demand that will make your head spin.
Minneapolis was ground zero for the anti-police riots after a city police officer murdered George Floyd.
Critics contend the city’s Democrat Mayor and state’s Democrat Governor allowed the mayhem to take place by pulling back law enforcement and waiting for days to call in the National Guard.
Now that the riots are over, Minnesota’s Democrat Governor Tim Walz asked President Trump for an emergency declaration of a major disaster and for $16 million in FEMA aid to rebuild the city.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported “Walz asked President Donald Trump to declare a ‘major disaster’ for the state of Minnesota in his request to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on July 2. More than 1,500 buildings were damaged by fires, looting and vandalism in the days of unrest that followed Floyd’s May 25 death in Minneapolis police custody, racking up more than $500 million in damages, according to Walz.”
President Trump rejected this outrageous request for taxpayer money to rebuild a city Democrats let burn.
“The Governor is disappointed that the federal government declined his request for financial support,” Governor Waltz’s spokesman stated. “As we navigate one of the most difficult periods in our state’s history, we look for support from our federal government to help us through.”
The Black Lives Matter riots following the death of George Floyd are one of the great scandals and tragedies in American history.
Democrats allowed cities to burn and businesses to be looted because they thought it would help them politically.
Now they are asking taxpayers to foot the bill for their negligence.
