Donald Trump got hit with devastating news about a major case headed to the Supreme Court

Donald Trump and Joe Biden are locked in a court battle.

Round one went to Biden.

And Donald Trump got hit with devastating news about a major case headed to the Supreme Court.

On Thursday, three Democrat activists on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against Donald Trump and ordered the National Archives to turn over documents from his time in the White House to the January 6 Select Committee.

Even though Trump claimed executive privilege, the three Democrat judges ruled that his claim did not hold water because the January 6 Committee had a legitimate interest in investigating the alleged “insurrection.”

“The January 6th Committee has… demonstrated a sound factual predicate for requesting these presidential documents specifically,” the ruling read. “There is a direct linkage between the former President and the events of the day.”

“Both Branches agree that there is a unique legislative need for these documents and that they are directly relevant to the Committee’s inquiry into an attack on the Legislative Branch and its constitutional role in the peaceful transfer of power,” the ruling added.

Trump’s spokeswoman, Liz Harrington, released a statement declaring that Trump expected to lose this skirmish given the partisan makeup of the three-judge panel.

However, Harrington stated that Trump intended to appeal the decision to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“Regardless of today’s decision by the appeals court, this case was always destined for the Supreme Court,” Harrington’s statement read. “President Trump’s duty to defend the Constitution and the Office of the Presidency continues, and he will keep fighting for every American and every future Administration.”

Democrats are clearly worried about the potential of Donald Trump running for President again in 2024.

They know Joe Biden’s approval ratings are tanking.

So they want to use the January 6 Committee to smear Trump with false claims about leading an insurrection in order to disqualify him in the minds of voters ahead of the 2024 election.

And this case is part of that effort.
