President Trump was counting on Attorney General William Barr.
Barr is overseeing an investigation into the origins of the Russian collusion hoax.
And now Donald Trump just received this disturbing report from William Barr.
United States Attorney John Durham is conducting a criminal investigation into the origins of the Russian collusion hoax.
Durham’s already scored one guilty plea from Kevin Clinesmith, an FBI lawyer who doctored an email to make it look like Carter Page was a Russian spy.
Republicans were hoping Durham would wrap up his investigation before the election so in case Joe Biden won, any prosecutions could still proceed.
But Attorney General Barr informed Congressional Republicans that there would be no report before the election.
Attorney General Bill Barr has begun telling top Republicans that the Justice Department’s sweeping review into the origins of the Russia investigation will not be released before the election, a senior White House official and a congressional aide briefed on the conversations tell Axios.
Appearing on the Rush Limbaugh show President Trump learned the news for the first time and called the decision a disgrace.
Axios claimed Barr is framing the decision as Durham leaving no stone unturned so he can offer up an airtight report and indictments on any criminal charges.
Axios also reported:
What we’re hearing: Barr is communicating that Durham is taking his investigation extremely seriously and is focused on winning prosecutions.
- According to one of the sources briefed on the conversations Barr said Durham is working in a deliberate and calculated fashion, and they need to be patient.
- The general sense of the talks, the source says, is that Durham is not preoccupied with completing his probe by a certain deadline for political purposes.
But for years, Trump supporters had the rug yanked out from under them as investigations into the criminal origins of the Russian collusion case never seem to take off and get buried by Deep State operatives.
