Tim Walz let fraudsters steal $350 million from programs meant to feed children and nobody went to jail.
Now it turns out Walz's Minnesota has been running a federal scholarship website that sorts applicants by race on behalf of the Labor Department.
Trump just yanked that contract – and what was sitting inside that database will tell you everything about who Democrats actually think deserves your money.
Your Tax Dollars Funded a Scholarship Sorting Machine Built on Race
CareerOneStop is a Labor Department website that advertises over 9,500 scholarships, fellowships, and grants to prospective students across the country.
And until this week, it came loaded with filters.
Not filters for academic achievement.
Not filters for financial need.
Filters for race.
Filters for sex.
Applicants could sort the entire scholarship database by demographic group – pulling up a $10,000 scholarship restricted to Black female law students, $16,000 fellowships locked to minority doctoral candidates in the sciences, and hundreds of other awards sorted by race and sex.
The federal government built that sorting machine.
The federal government funded it.
And for years, your tax dollars paid Minnesota – yes, Tim Walz's Minnesota – to run the whole operation.
Minnesota Was Running This Program While Walz Presided Over a DEI Empire
That's the same state the Trump Justice Department sued in January 2026, alleging Minnesota agencies gave illegal employment preferences based on race and sex in violation of the Civil Rights Act.
Attorney General Pamela Bondi put it plainly: "Making hiring decisions based on immutable characteristics like race and sex is simple discrimination."
The Trump administration is now pulling CareerOneStop back in-house and overhauling it completely – ending the Minnesota arrangement in the coming months.
White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers delivered the verdict without hedging: "President Trump was resoundingly elected with a clear mandate to end divisive, racist policies and restore merit and efficiency."

That's the correct framing.
Sorting children by skin color and handing out money accordingly isn't equity.
It's discrimination with extra steps.
The Courts Already Said This Is Illegal
This isn't even a close legal call.
The Supreme Court's 2023 Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard decision obliterated race-conscious admissions nationwide.
The Department of Education followed up by declaring any separation based on race – in dorms, ceremonies, and scholarship awards – illegal under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.
The Heritage Foundation had been documenting this for years – pointing out that race-based scholarship programs at federally funded colleges violated civil rights law so plainly that Biden's own Education Department kept catching them.
The legal framework was always there.
Trump is simply enforcing it.
Since taking office, the administration has already compelled the College Board to overhaul its National Recognition Program – a scholarship system that handed awards based on ethnicity, not grades.
Harvard, Notre Dame, the University of Kentucky, Virginia Tech, and hundreds of other institutions have cancelled racially segregated affinity graduation ceremonies.
The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals handed Trump a major legal victory in February 2026, vacating a preliminary injunction against the administration's anti-DEI executive orders.
The momentum is unmistakable.

Race-based scholarships as a share of tracked awards have already dropped – from 15% in 2023 to 11% in 2026 – as institutions scramble to comply before federal investigators come knocking.
They Called Merit Racist and Built a System to Prove It
Here's what the left won't tell you.
The entire architecture of the DEI scholarship regime was built on one assumption: that merit is racist.
That a child who worked harder, studied longer, and scored higher deserves to step aside for a child who checked the right demographic box.
The federal government – your government – built a website to automate that process and handed it to a state that was running the same racially sorted hiring system inside its own agencies.
Trump isn't just fixing a website.
He's dismantling the infrastructure of a system that told your kids their skin color was the problem.
That system is going down – one federal database at a time.
