Donald Trump is inching back into the American political scene.
That has all hell breaking loose inside the GOP.
And Donald Trump revealed to Fox News the one thing Republicans need to win back the Senate.
In a wide ranging interview with Fox News Channel host Maria Bartiromo, Donald Trump expressed optimism that Republicans could win back the majorities in the House and Senate next November.
But former President Trump said the task was more difficult in the Senate because of the GOP’s poor leadership.
“I think we have a chance of taking back the House. I think we have a chance to do better in the Senate. We need leadership in the Senate, which frankly we don’t have. We need better leadership in the Senate. We have a good chance to take back the Senate. Frankly, we will make our decision after that,” Trump told Bartiromo.
Donald Trump ripped Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and his deputy John Thune for months after Trump believed McConnell and Thune abandoned him during Trump’s fight to contest the 2020 election.
Trump blasted McConnell as bearing responsibility for losing the Georgia Senate runoff races.
McConnell only supported $600 stimulus checks when Trump backed $2,000 checks.
Democrats battered Republicans for supporting stingier checks and falsely promised that Democrats would immediately pass $2,000 checks if the voters gave them the majority.
The Republican grassroots have long distrusted McConnell and Thune because they never fought for Trump’s America First agenda.
McConnell has since promised to get involved in Senate primaries to back “electable” candidates.
If McConnell tries to run a slate of Never-Trumpers and RINOs in next November’s midterm election, the GOP may fall short of winning back the majority.
That’s the lack of leadership Donald Trump is worried about that will cost the GOP the Senate next November.
