Donald Trump was giving a normal press conference. Then the Secret Service burst in the room

No one had ever seen anything like this before.

And the scene played out live on television.

Donald Trump was giving a normal press conference. Then the Secret Service burst in the room.

On Monday, President Trump was delivering a coronavirus briefing update to the American people when a Secret Service agent rushed on stage and whispered something into the President’s ear.

The President then left the podium mid-sentence and walked out of the briefing room.

A stunned nation looked on as the White House press corps scrambled to figure out what was going on.

Fox News Channel’s John Roberts later reported there was a shooting outside the White House on 17th and Pennsylvania Avenue involving the Secret Service and another individual.

Fortunately, no one was killed and the Secret Service later tweeted out a statement on the event.

After a few minutes, President Trump returned to the briefing room to update reporters and the nation as well as continue his briefing.

The President calmly answered questions about the shooting and why he chose to return to the briefing room once the Secret Service said it was safe to do so.

A Secret Service agent rushing the President out of a press conference on live television can be a disconcerting event.

Americans began to wonder if it’s not just the President’s safety at risk, but whether the nation was under attack.

Fortunately, neither the President’s safety nor the security of the country was at risk yesterday.
