Donald Trump isn’t done with politics.
He’s got the opportunity to make a major comeback.
And Donald Trump was grinning from ear to ear after a court handed him this massive victory.
Even though the 2020 elections are over, the fight for election integrity still rages on across America.
After Democrats used the pandemic as an excuse to disregard any basic election security, conservatives around the country are working to beef up election integrity to ensure that the integrity of America’s elections cannot be called into question.
In 2020, Pennsylvania had one of the most contentious fights over election integrity.
Democrats used the courts to disregard state law and break down election security for the 2020 elections due to concerns over the coronavirus.
A key component of the Democrats’ scheme was a 2019 bill, Act 77, which allowed no-excuse absentee voting by mail.
However, after a group of 14 Pennsylvania State Representatives filed a challenge against the law, a five-judge panel on the Commonwealth Court handed conservatives a massive victory.
The panel ruled 3 to 2 against the law, saying it violated the state’s Constitution.
“Since 1838, the Pennsylvania Constitution has required a qualified elector to appear at a polling place in the election district where he resides and on Election Day. This requirement was adopted ‘thereby to exclude disqualified pretenders and fraudulent voters of all sorts,'” Judge Mary Hannah Leavitt wrote.
“A Constitutional amendment must be presented to the people and adopted into our fundamental law before legislation authorizing no-excuse mail-in voting can ‘be placed upon our statute books,'” she concluded.
In the 2020 election, 2.6 million Pennsylvanians voted by mail.
Joe Biden won Pennsylvania by roughly 80,000 votes.
Democrats are planning on appealing the ruling to the State Supreme Court.
“BIG news out of Pennsylvania! The practice of no-excuse mail-in ballots, put in place by Democrats right before the stolen 2020 Election, has been ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL by the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court,” Donald Trump wrote in a statement.
“Here is the key question: If widespread mail-in balloting is unconstitutional in Pennsylvania now, how could mail-in balloting have been constitutional in the RIGGED 2020 Presidential Election then?” Trump added.
Though the process for implementing no-excuse mail-in ballots in the 2020 election has been ruled unconstitutional by the Commonwealth Court, the case can’t overturn the results of that election.
And with the state Supreme Court set to decide the law’s fate, this is just the beginning of the fight over election integrity for the state’s future elections.
Previous attempts by the Republican-controlled state legislature to strengthen election integrity have been vetoed by Democrat Governor Tom Wolf.
Fortunately, Wolf is termed out of office this year.
But several of the Republicans running for Governor have promised to sign election integrity bills into law.
With this ruling and a crucial Governor’s race, Republicans have an opportunity to deliver a major victory for election integrity in Pennsylvania this year.
