Democrats repeatedly used the federal court system as an arm of the “resistance” to the President.
But much like impeachment, that strategy resulted in massive failure.
And Donald Trump just won a victory in court that left Nancy Pelosi wondering what hit her.
Donald Trump came into office promising to crackdown on illegal immigration.
Part of that “Make America Great Agenda” included sending a signal to lawless “sanctuary cities” that their time was up.
Back in 2017, in response to rogue jurisdictions refusing to enforce federal immigration law, the administration withheld Byrne Program Criminal Justice Assistance grants from the states of New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Washington, Massachusetts, and Virginia.
Democrats and open borders activists won a series of lower court decisions blocking the Trump administration from implementing this order.
But as is so often the case in the Left’s legal “resistance,” those wins were only temporary and as the case moved up the ladder in the federal court system the President emerged victorious.
The Second Circuit Court of Appeals sided with the Trump administration and allowed the hold to take place.
“The principal legal question presented in this appeal is whether the federal government may deny grants of money to State and local governments that would be eligible for such awards but for their refusal to comply with three immigration‐related conditions imposed by the Attorney General of the United States,” the court wrote.
This ruling came on the heels of the Supreme Court lifting a stay that blocked the Trump administration’s “public charge” rule that allowed for denying green cards to foreigners judged likely to end up on welfare.
These victories in court undercut the Democrat and Fake News Media narrative that President Trump was taking the rule of law into his own hands and implementing dictatorial like policies to combat illegal immigration.
