Donald Trump’s secret meeting with a Republican Governor raised this important question

The Republican Presidential Primary is just about over.

The Trump campaign is turning its attention to the General Election.

And Donald Trump’s secret meeting with a Republican Governor raised this important question.

Former President Donald Trump turned in another dominant performance in Michigan’s Primary where trounced former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley by more than 40 points.

It’s a matter of when, not if, Trump officially sews up the Republican nomination.

Now the sweepstakes to become his running mate is heating up as his campaign begins to focus on November’s rematch with President Joe Biden.

Donald Trump has a private meeting with Kristi Noem

A source told the Daily Caller that South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem met with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

The meeting came after Trump confirmed to Fox News host Laura Ingraham that Noem was on his shortlist for Vice President during a town hall before the South Carolina Primary.

Ingraham read off a list of names that the audience suggested could be Trump’s running mate.

They included Fox News contributor Tulsi Gabbard, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fl), biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and Noem.

Gabbard and Noem drew cheers from the audience when their names were read off.

“Are they all on your shortlist?” Ingraham asked.

“They are. They’re all solid,” Trump said. “And I always say I want people with common sense because there’s so many things happening in this country that don’t make sense.”

Trump told Ingraham that the most important quality for a Vice President was someone ready to step in as President.

Kristi Noem has buzz for Vice President

A Kaplan Strategies Wisconsin poll of Wisconsin voters found that Noem was their top choice to become Trump’s running mate.

She had the highest favorability with voters in the poll, with 39% having a very or somewhat favorable view of her.

DeSantis came in second in the poll followed by Ramaswamy.

Noem tied with Ramaswamy as the top choice for participants of the Vice Presidential straw poll at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

She gave a fiery speech at CPAC that many thought was an audition to become Trump’s running mate.

Kristi Noem urges CPAC crowd to not to quit on Donald Trump

The South Dakota Governor used her speech at CPAC to slam Trump’s GOP Presidential challengers.

“We’ve known that for over a year [that] he’s the only person who’s got the support to be the Republican nominee. So why did all these other people and candidates get into the race? For themselves? For personal benefit? For a spotlight for a period of time?” Noem asked. “We need a fighter, someone who doesn’t give up and who has never quit on us, so don’t you quit on him.”

It was a veiled shot at former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley for continuing to drag out the Republican Primary by staying in the race.

“I was one of the first people to endorse Donald J. Trump to be our President. Last year, when people were asking me whether I would be running for President, I said ‘No, why would you run for President if you can’t win?’” Noem said.

That’s why Kristi Noem has vaulted herself to the top of the shortlist to become Trump’s running mate.
