Dr. Fauci gave every American the one report that had them grinning from ear to ear

Dr. Anthony Fauci has become a major television star during the coronavirus outbreak.

As a key member of the President’s taskforce Dr. Fauci has been one of the most cautious voices on when the fight against the coronavirus will turn the corner.

But on Monday, Dr. Fauci gave every American the one report that had them grinning from ear to ear.

Dr. Fauci and other administration officials warned Americans that this coming week would be this generation’s “Pearl Harbor moment” as the virus peaked and death tolls hit their highest numbers.

But on Monday, Dr. Fauci pointed to the fact that the country was starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.

Dr. Fauci pointed to the rate of hospitalizations in New York falling for multiple days in a row as a sign the state – which was the epicenter of the outbreak – was beginning to turn the corner.

“Everybody who knows me knows that I am very conservative about making projections, but those are the kind of good signs that you look for,” Dr. Fauci continued. “That’s the first thing you see when you start to see the turnaround.”

The President and Vice President also echoed Dr. Fauci’s optimism.

“We hope we are seeing a leveling off in the hottest spots of them all. So we will see,” President Trump told the press. “You will see it over the next few days. Let’s see what happens. But we are prepared.”

“The experts told us that somewhere around the middle of this month would be the peak and as we begin to see a couple of days that might be the beginning of leveling, we’re going to watch that carefully and we’re going to bring that information to the president,” Vice President Pence added.

These comments provided hope to the American people that the worst of the coronavirus was behind them and that the country could begin to move toward reopening the economy and getting life back to normal as quickly as possible.
