Elizabeth Warren is planting the seeds for a 2020 Presidential campaign.
The left-wing darling is going on a book tour pundits speculate is the kickoff for her challenge to Donald Trump.
Warren is launching a book tour to promote “This Fight is Our Fight: The Battle to Save America’s Middle Class.”
It’s a left-wing creed that promotes her socialist ideology.
Pundits also believe it’s the first step in her 2020 Presidential campaign.
Warren, however, will have to contend with the America Rising Super PAC.
The Republican group will send trackers to events and monitor her tour for any missteps or gaffes that can be used to puncture a hole in her Presidential ambitions.
America Rising ran the same program against Hillary Clinton before her 2016 campaign and it helped damage her hopes.
Politico reports:
“We view book launch as the soft launch of her presidential campaign. We’ll do the same to her as we did with Hillary Clinton in 2014,” said America Rising executive director Colin Reed.
In 2014, the group maintained a “war room” that monitored Clinton’s media appearances in conjunction with her book.
The group plans a similar strategy with Warren. It will build and maintain opposition research, use video tracking, FOIA and public records, and deploy rapid response communications to “make Warren’s life difficult” during her 2018 Senate re-election, according to a memo outlining the group’s efforts. The memo also said the goal is “to damage her 2020 prospects…
…Warren is not the sole focus of America Rising’s efforts. Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in New York, New Jersey Sen. Corey Booker, California Sen. Kamala Harris, and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders are also targets for the group.
But there is particular emphasis on Warren. “She is the titular head of the Democratic party, with enormous sway regardless of whether she runs for president,” Reed said.”
Republicans may also want to raise Warren’s profile because they consider her unelectable.
Warren resides on the far-left end of the political spectrum.
Her ideology mirrors that of socialist Bernie Sanders.
And she embraces the left’s belief in identity politics and political correctness.
Her radical economic views and embrace of social justice warriors could spell doom in a Presidential election.
