Tesla CEO Elon Musk continues to make waves in American politics.
And Musk continues to make enemies on the Left.
Now Elon Musk made a major 2022 election announcement that will drive Democrats crazy.
No one really knows Elon Musk’s political ideology.
In 2012, Musk strongly supported Barack Obama’s re-election campaign.
But Musk’s recent attempt to purchase Twitter and safeguard free speech made him enemies on the Left.
The Democrats’ thirst for censoring their opponents led to furious coverage in the media over Musk’s attempt to take over Twitter and rollback the content moderation policies that allow the company’s left-wing workforce to ban or censor conservative speech.
And in another shocker, during a tech conference in Miami, Musk told the All-In podcast that he planned to vote Republican in 2022 for the first time in his life.
“I have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats, historically – overwhelmingly. Like I’m not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear,” Musk stated. “Now this election, I will.”
The audience at the tech conference – not a likely group of conservatives – laughed and cheered Musk’s announcement.
Musk explained that Big Labor and the trial lawyers held Democrats hostage.
“The issue here is that the Democrat party is overly controlled by the unions and by the trial lawyers – particularly the class action lawyers,” Musk stated. “And generally, if you see something that is not in the interest of the people on the Democrat side, it’s going to come because of unions – which is just another form of monopoly – and the trial lawyers.”
Campaign finance data shows that is true.
In the 2018 Midterms, trial lawyers contributed $158 million to candidates, 79 percent of which flowed to Democrats.
During the 2016 election, Big Labor – funded by forced union dues clawed out of worker’s pay checks – spent a record $216 million.
90 percent of Big Labor’s campaign contributions flowed to Democrats.
Trial lawyers and unions fund Democrat campaigns because regulations are how they amass money and power.
The more regulations there are on businesses, the greater the demand for trial lawyers.
And unions depend on special favors from the government to exist.
Elon Musk recognizes that Big Labor and the trial lawyers hold the Democrats hostage to an agenda that kills American economic competitiveness.
And that is why Musk is voting Republican this fall.
