Florida is going to war with Joe Biden to stop this awful green energy scheme

The time is winding down on Joe Biden’s first term in office.

He’s trying to fundamentally transform the country before the clock runs out.

Now Florida is going to war with Joe Biden to stop this awful green energy scheme.

Joe Biden launches federal power grab over the electrical grid

President Joe Biden is illegally trying to take over control of the nation’s electrical grid to speed up his transition to green energy.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued a 1,363-page rule for the permitting process for transmission lines that undercuts the authority of state and local governments.

Biden is using the FERC to bypass Congress to boost green energy.

The rule makes it harder to build and operate natural gas power plants by making it harder for them to build transmission lines.

Green energy sources like solar and wind get priority permitting approval under the rule.

And states would be required to cover the added costs of transitioning regional transmission lines to accommodate green energy whether they wanted to or not.

States will lose the freedom to decide what power source works best for them to prioritize “green” energy nationwide.

Biden’s plan is to steamroll states to force the power grid to accommodate more wind and solar.

That’s why 19 Republican Attorneys General are taking the Biden administration to court.

Republican Attorneys General sue over Biden’s green energy scheme

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is leading a 19-state coalition suing to overturn the FERC ruling in federal court.

“FERC has never been granted the authority to revamp the structure of state energy grids or force states and their ratepayers to subsidize large-scale transmission lines that don’t transport enough energy to justify the cost. This encroachment upon state authority far exceeds FERC’s limited purview and damages the ability of states to regulate their electric grids efficiently, all in the name of advancing costly climate goals,” the coalition argues.

Texas is joined by Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Utah.

The lawsuit argues the FERC rule is “attempting to do indirectly what it cannot do directly: usurp the States’ exclusive authority over generation choices by adopting planning rules designed to benefit remote renewable generation and renewable developers, and shift billions or trillions of dollars in transmission costs from those developers onto electric consumers.”

The coalition is arguing the FERC is violating the Federal Power Act.

Texas General Land Office Commissioner Dawn Buckingham had refused to sign permits to run transmission lines for offshore wind farms in the Gulf of Mexico pursued by the Biden administration.

FERC could make Texas permit those transmission lines if the rule is upheld.

“The Biden Administration appears hellbent on force-feeding Americans failed ‘green’ policies,” Buckingham said, adding her office will “never allow the federal government to endanger the people of Texas and our state’s beautiful wildlife with untested, unproven, and ineffective technology when reliable, clean, and safe energy is already available.”

Joe Biden is trying to force-feed his green energy revolution on the country.
