Fox News backed Jen Psaki into a corner after this insane response to a question

Jen Psaki continued her rocky run as White House press secretary this week.

Psaki crumbled when pressed to defend her talking points.

And Fox News backed Jen Psaki into a corner after this insane response to a question.

During Monday’s White House press briefing Jen Psaki pushed the blatant falsehood that Republicans are the party of defunding the police because every Republican member of Congress voted against Joe Biden’s nearly two trillion dollar “Blue State Bailout Bill” that included a $350 million payoff for state and local governments.

Democrat governments claimed they needed the money to fill shortfalls in state budgets that arose due to their disastrous coronavirus lockdowns.

Psaki and other Democrats are now trying to claim Republicans voted against money that could be used to confront the crime wave sweeping Democrat-run cities.

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy pressed Psaki on this baseless claim.

“That was sold as — these local police departments might have a pandemic-related budget shortfall,” Doocy stated. “Not a ‘We need to keep cops on the beat because there’s a crime wave.’”

Psaki tried to stick to her talking point.

“I think that any local department would argue that keeping cops on the beat to keep communities safe when they had to — because of budget shortfalls — fire police, is something that helped them address crime in their local communities,” Psaki replied.

Psaki tried to claim Republicans were the ones defunding the police on the same day the city of Oakland – where just 5.9% of the voters are registered Republicans – slashed 18 million dollars from the police budget.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar and other prominent socialists’ in the Democrat Party continue to beat the drum to defund the police.

But while they’re for it, Democrats know their support for defunding the police is politically damaging for the Party.

So top administration officials are hoping a friendly media will help Democrats gaslight the public into thinking the rising crime is Republicans’ fault when they are really the ones that support defunding the police.
