Fox News just made one major hire that will change the network in this big way

Ever since the 2020 election Fox News has undergone a face lift.

That continued with a surprising announcement.

And Fox News just made one major hire that will change the network in this big way.

On Wednesday, Fox News Channel announced it purchased the conservative leaning sports website was started by commentator Clay Travis in 2011 and the site took off in popularity in recent years as Travis became one of the leading voices in sports media criticizing all the woke politics and Black Lives Matter protests that creeped into the world of sports.

This past year saw Travis’ website reach new heights as Travis was one of the few sports journalists who rejected the hysteria over the coronavirus and campaigned for pro and college sports to reject the doomsaying of corporate-controlled media outlets and resume playing sports because the pandemic did not pose a threat to athletes.

Travis even interviewed Donald Trump twice on his radio show – which reaches 10 million listeners a month – during the 2020 campaign.

In announcing the deal, Travis also noted that his site will only continue to grow now that it is part of the Fox brand.

“Outkick has grown out of my passion for producing bold, well-informed, and entertaining content about sports, current events and, more recently, sports wagering. With the power of Fox behind us, we look forward to maintaining Outkick’s unwavering commitment to that mission, as well as further accelerating the growth of our audience, and continued leadership in the sports wagering affiliate category,” Travis stated.

By acquiring Travis’ site, Fox brought a popular sports and pop culture commentator into the tent that Fox hopes will draw in new viewers by expanding the reach of Fox to offer content and analysis on a wider variety of subjects than just politics.

“Clay and his team have quickly made Outkick a content powerhouse with a very large, loyal and engaged audience. We expect the synergies presented across FOX’s existing portfolio of assets will turbocharge this exciting business,” Fox Corp. Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Lachlan Murdoch declared.
