The Democrats are in disarray.
The party was left without a clear leader after Hillary’s defeat in 2016.
Now one of Obama’s corrupt cabinet officials looks like he’s angling for the job.
Eric Holder served as Obama’s Attorney General from 2009-2015.
During that time he became the first cabinet member ever to be held in contempt of Congress for refusing to cooperate with Congress’ investigation into Operation Fast and Furious.
Fast and Furious was a botched ATF operation that allowed guns “to walk” into the hands Mexican drug cartels, eventually resulting in the death of US Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.
But now, Eric Holder, who’s heading up Obama’s National Democratic Redistricting Committee (with the hopes of redrawing Congressional District boundaries favorably for Democrats so they can retake the House), may have his eyes set on something bigger . . .
The White House.
The Washington Examiner reports:
“We’ll see,” he said when asked about a bid for the Democratic nomination.
Holder, addressing reporters at a media breakfast sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor, said that he will make a decision this year.
During the hour-long session, Holder spoke of issues he addressed while Obama’s top lawman and those he might take on the road in a campaign.
For example, he talked repeatedly about the plight of “people of color,” and raised issues including income inequality and climate change.
Holder, who remains very close to Obama, also assailed Trump for pardoning former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio, hit several decisions by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and defended the IRS, FBI, Justice Department, and Russia probe investigator Robert Mueller.
Of course, heading up Obama’s anti-Republican redistricting committee isn’t all Holder’s up to.
Judicial Watch recently discovered that California taxpayers are forking over “$25,000 a month for 40 hours of former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s time to help the state strategize for upcoming clashes with the Trump administration.”
Must be nice to collect $625/hour by taxpayers each month to challenge the policies of the sitting president.
What are your thoughts on Holder’s political ambitions and post-Obama administration activities?
