Ivanka Trump just informed this Republican Senator about her plans to challenge him in 2022

Ever since Donald Trump left the White House, his supporters have looked for clues as to what the future holds.

That also extends to Trump’s family members who have also hinted at running for office.

And now Ivanka Trump just informed this Republican Senator about her plans to challenge him in 2022.

After leaving the White House, it looked like the entire Trump family decamped to Florida.

Donald Trump made Mar-a-Lago his official residence.

Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner moved to Miami.

When Ivanka Trump moved to Miami, it immediately kicked off chatter among the political class that she would challenge Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio in the 2022 Republican Primary.

Rubio challenged Trump in the 2016 Presidential campaign and exited the race as Trump romped to victory in the Florida primary.

The Florida Republican started out as a Tea Party favorite but quickly revealed himself to be an establishment moderate supporting open borders, amnesty, and massive new gun control policies.

But Ivanka Trump recently told Rubio she will not challenge him in a Republican Primary as he seeks a third term in 2022.

The New York Times reports:

“Marco did speak with Ivanka a few weeks ago,” said Nick Iacovella, a spokesman for Mr. Rubio. “Ivanka offered her support for Marco’s re-election. They had a great talk.”

A person close to Ms. Trump also confirmed the conversation, and said that a Senate run was never something she was seriously considering. The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity to disclose private discussions, said that Mr. Rubio’s office had asked Ms. Trump to hold off on making clear she was not running until April, when they hoped to hold a joint event with her.

Rubio may only attract token primary opposition in 2022, but he has his eyes on another Presidential run in 2024.

However critics believe the issues that did him in last time – Rubio tried to fake it until he makes it as a conservative – may bring him down again in 2024.
