James Comey could wind up behind bars because of this number

James Comey’s big media tour is not going as planned.

His interview with ABC was a dud of epic proportions.

Now one number could land him in the slammer.

James Comey is not the honest lawman he claims.

Comey’s time in the spotlight has instead drawn the focus to his own conduct.

And that is big trouble for Comey.

He is accused of leaking classified information in the form of his now famous memos to a friend so that their release would trigger a special counsel investigation.

Senate Judiciary Committee chairmen Chuck Grassley said four of the seven memos included information marked “CONFIDENTIAL” or “SECRET.”

The Daily Caller reports:

“James Comey may have leaked at least one classified memo to a friend shortly after he was fired as FBI director.

That’s an assessment from Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley, who wrote a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on Wednesday demanding answers about the handling of memos that Comey wrote following his conversations with President Trump.

Grassley noted that he and his staff recently reviewed seven memos that Comey wrote after his meetings with Trump. Four of those documents contained information classified as “CONFIDENTIAL” or “SECRET.”

Now the American public has examined Comey’s claims and stacked them up against his own conduct, a new poll shows a plurality of likely voters believes he should be prosecuted.

Breitbart reports:

“Comey has admitted to leaking details of his classified conversations with Trump to the media through an intermediary. Last June, only 41 percent wanted to see him prosecuted for this. That number has now jumped to a near-majority and clear plurality of 46 percent.

In worse news for Comey, his base of support among those who do not want to see him prosecuted has plummeted -13 points, from 47 percent in June to just 34 percent today.”
