Robert Mueller’s witch hunt into collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia continues to drag on.
So far, zero proof of any collusion has been discovered.
Now Attorney General Jeff Sessions dropped a surprising announcement about the investigation that no one could believe.
Sessions revealed that he has not been interviewed by Mueller.
“Sessions told senators that Robert Mueller, the special counsel leading the Department of Justice’s Russia probe, had not interviewed him. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who has taken over supervision of the Russia probe, has been interviewed by Mueller’s team. Sessions recused himself from the investigation after news reports that he discussed policy issues with Moscow’s former ambassador while he advised Trump’s White House campaign.
Sessions did not discuss whether he had provided documents or other materials to Mueller, and his spokeswoman, Sarah Isgur Flores, said she did not know whether he had been asked. The attorney general initially hesitated when Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) asked about his interactions with Mueller.
“I’d be pleased to answer that. I’m not sure I should without clearing that with the special counsel,” Sessions said. He then paused and seemed to look across the dais at his former Senate colleagues, saying, “What do you think?”
After a few moments, Sessions said there had been no such interview.
“No…The answer is no,” the attorney general said.”
Pundits speculated that Sessions would be a key witness.
But they once again were trapped in the land of fan fiction as opposed to reality.
They continually pushed a fake news narrative that Sessions had undisclosed contacts with the Russian ambassador that may have left him compromised.
In reality, Sessions met with the Russian ambassador – as he did many other ambassadors – in his capacity as a member of the Senate foreign relations committee.
And none of the discussions involved the election.
Mueller’s probe is coming up empty handed.
There is no evidence of collusion because the whole story was nothing more than a hoax concocted by the Clinton campaign to make excuses for why Hillary lost an election everyone thought she had in the bag.
