As Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, Jim Jordan (R-OH) is poised to be a top GOP watchdog this session of Congress.
Jordan was already planning on leading many of the important investigations into the Biden regime, but he just added another one to his plate.
House Republicans are planning on creating a special subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee to investigate the “weaponization of the federal government.”
Jordan would oversee the subcommittee and lead the investigation into the blatant abuses of power and weaponization of the federal government against Americans.
The top target for the subcommittee will be the weaponization of the FBI against conservatives, which includes the Russian collusion hoax perpetrated against former President Donald Trump.
The creation of the subcommittee was partially inspired by the disturbing revelations in the “Twitter Files” released by Elon Musk.
The “Twitter Files” revealed that the FBI was working hand in hand with the former leadership of the company to censor information that ran contrary to the Democrat Party’s preferred narrative.
Jim Jordan will have a broad mandate to investigate a number of abuses by the federal government, potentially including Dr. Anthony Fauci’s role in censoring information during the pandemic, the Department of Homeland Security’s Orwellian Disinformation Governance Board, and the FBI’s labeling of concerned parents who protested Marxist indoctrination at school board meetings as domestic terrorists.
“Its mandate is whatever Jim Jordan wants to do,” one Congressional investigator who works on oversight issues told the Washington Examiner.
The subcommittee’s effort would include “a full and complete investigation and study” along with a final report of their findings due by January 2, 2025.
Chip Roy (R-TX) secured the creation of the subcommittee as part of the concessions made by the conservative holdouts to Kevin McCarthy.
The resolution creating the subcommittee gives it the ability to receive highly classified information from the FBI and the intelligence community.
The subcommittee would have the ability to introduce legislation that could reign in any potential abuses by the federal government discovered during the investigation.
