Jim Jordan made one major announcement that left Merrick Garland trembling in fear

Attorney General Merrick Garland has weaponized the Justice Department against conservatives.

His abuse of power is coming back to haunt him.

And that’s because Jim Jordan made one major announcement that left Merrick Garland trembling in fear.

Starting during the 2016 Presidential campaign, FBI agents have morphed into political hatchet men for the Democrat Party.

FBI whistleblowers have come forward with numerous allegations of politicization of the Bureau under Attorney General Merrick Garland’s watch.

The recent revelations from Elon Musk’s Twitter Files exposed the FBI’s role in ordering censorship that was politically beneficial to the Democrat Party on the social media platform.

With the FBI mired in scandal, Jim Jordan (R-OH) is calling for a top to bottom investigation of the Bureau.

“We’ve been looking at a Church-style committee to look at this,” Jordan told Just the News.

The Church Committee was a Senate select committee formed in 1975 that investigated and exposed abuses by the FBI, CIA, and the National Security Agency (NSA).

The committee’s work led to reforms in the intelligence community and the FBI.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the top candidate to be the next House Speaker, also signed off on the idea of a Church-style committee.

“We’ve got to get to the very bottom, and I think just subpoenas are starting, but you’re almost going to have to have a Church-style investigation to reform the FBI, the more that we are learning,” McCarthy told Fox News.

McCarthy suggested that non-members of Congress could join the committee for their expertise, including retired House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes and former Trump Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe.

Ratcliffe helped expose the FBI’s role in pushing the Russian collusion hoax against former President Donald Trump.

“You’ve listened to John Ratcliffe, early on, talk about the different things that he was fearful of them doing,” McCarthy said. “He is a former FBI, he is a former prosecutor, U.S. attorney, he’s a former Congressman, and he was DNI as well. So he is the key individual that will work with us in many avenues to help solve this problem and correct it once and for all.”

Former FBI intelligence chief Kevin Brock said that a Church-style committee could help restore the public’s shaken trust in the FBI.

“I think, frankly, it would be great for the FBI,” Brock said. “They find themselves obviously in a very challenging situation, some of which they brought on themselves, others kind of imposed upon them.”

He explained that the FBI couldn’t survive if half of the country believes the Bureau is working on behalf of one political party.

Ending the FBI’s political bias and restoring trust in the Bureau is a major task facing the House next year.

A Church-style committee involving outside experts could be the first step to restoring political neutrality at the FBI.
