Jim Jordan (R-OH) is one of the leading GOP watchdogs and is poised to lead the powerful House Judiciary Committee under a potential Republican majority.
Jordan is already laying the groundwork to investigate two of the biggest rogue officials in the Biden regime, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
Mayorkas is one of the architects of Biden’s open borders agenda that created the worst border crisis in the country’s history.
“Everyone knows what the Biden administration has done on the border is intentional, so we are going to look at all of that,” Jordan told the Epoch Times. “There are a whole host of things that are a problem that I think warrant aggressive oversight.”
Jordan specifically noted the time when Mayorkas falsely accused Border Patrol agents on horseback of using their long riding reins to whip Haitian illegal aliens.
“Mayorkas knew, for example, that these guys they accused of using their whips to hit migrants, he knew that was [expletive], like we all suspected it was,” Jordan said.
Mayorkas’ failure to do his job and secure the border has made him a potential target for impeachment under a House Republican majority.
When asked about impeaching Mayorkas, Jordan said “this guy certainly warrants it.”
“He came in front of our Committee and couldn’t remember when I asked him about the status of the individuals on the FBI’s terrorist watchlist arrested at the border and sneeringly said ‘I don’t know.’ This guy is bad news,” Jordan added.
A soaring number of illegal aliens on the FBI’s terrorism watchlist have been arrested at the southern border under Biden.
Jordan then turned his attention to Attorney General Merrick Garland’s weaponization of the Justice Department to target conservatives.
“The other big thing, of course, is the Justice Department and how political it has become, with the 14 whistleblowers, 14 FBI agents that have come to us as whistleblowers, so we’ll look at all of that,” Jordan said.
FBI whistleblowers have come forward to Jordan’s office about the growing weaponization of the Bureau to target political opponents of the Biden regime.
“We’ve had more whistleblowers come to us than I’ve ever seen while we’re in the minority, which means we can’t do the investigation in the proper way. But they’re willing to do it because it’s that bad over there,” Jordan continued.
