NBC's Jimmy Fallon cracked adultery jokes about the First Lady on the same day she reunited a Ukrainian child with their mother after years of war.
That's the joke – and Fallon is the punchline.
And this is what your tax dollars fund at One Rockefeller Plaza.
What Fallon Actually Said on National Television
Monday night on The Tonight Show, Fallon opened his monologue by mocking Melania Trump's absence from a Long Island campaign stop.
"Trump heard and was like, 'Big deal, I haven't seen her in private for two years,'" Fallon told his cheering studio audience.

He didn't stop there.
Fallon suggested Melania might be trapped with the President inside a catering truck – a reference to the security operation in Ankara, Turkey, where Trump switched aircraft after an Iranian threat.
Then came the closer: "Yep, no one has seen Melania. All I know is it's going to be crazy when we find out she ran off with Mitch McConnell."
The crowd roared.
NBC aired all of it without hesitation.
What Melania Was Actually Doing
The day Fallon delivered those jokes, the White House announced that First Lady Melania Trump had facilitated her 34th child reunification since writing a peace letter to Vladimir Putin a year ago.
She has been working – quietly, persistently, without cameras – to bring Ukrainian children home from Russia since August 2025.
She personally wrote Putin asking him to return the children.
Putin wrote back.
She sent a representative to negotiate directly with both governments through six separate rounds of reunifications, every few months, one child at a time.
"There is nothing more powerful than reuniting a mother with her child after an extended period of time," Mrs. Trump said in her statement Monday.
Thirty-four children are home because of her.
The Left Decided to Make It About Sex
Fallon's jokes didn't exist in a vacuum.
The same evening, Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) was on MS NOW taking pointed questions from anchor Jen Psaki about his weekend rally comments insinuating that President Trump was having an affair with executive assistant Natalie Harp – a 35-year-old bone cancer survivor whose life was saved by Trump's Right to Try Act.
"I've heard this particular aide referred to as his security blanket," Ossoff told Psaki.
Ossoff is running for re-election in Georgia and apparently decided his best move was to smear a woman who beat terminal cancer and dedicated her career to the president who helped save her life.
The White House destroyed him for it.
Trump dismissed Ossoff to reporters as "Pee-Wee Herman." Communications director Steven Cheung called him "a radical, extremist Dumocrat."
Conservative commentator Robby Starbuck put it plainly: "Ossoff is a vile coward for insinuating they're having an affair. He should apologize to Natalie for doing this."
NBC Isn't a Comedy Network Anymore
Late-night hosts directed 97% of their political jokes at Trump even when Biden was running for president, according to a George Mason University study.

Fallon has spent months taking shots at Melania's marriage – jokes about construction noise, about escape tunnels, about living 200 miles away – cheap shot after cheap shot against a woman who isn't on television because she's busy negotiating with war governments to bring children home.
While Fallon's studio audience cheered sex jokes about the First Lady, Melania Trump was getting a Ukrainian child back to her mother.
One of these people is doing something real.
