Joe Biden wants a fight with Congressional Republicans.

The Republican majority in the House of Representatives is targeting the Biden administration for weaponizing the federal government against conservatives.
The FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago last August and a 2021 memo where the Department of Justice smeared parents who protested mask mandates and Critical Race Theory at school board meetings as domestic terrorists has many Americans up in arms.
Congressional Republicans cited both as examples of how the new majority could rein in the Biden administration’s worst abuses by exercising Congress’s power of the purse.
“There are things you can do,” Arizona Republican Congressman Andy Biggs declared. “You start defunding some of these bad agencies. The FBI. The DOJ.”
“We’re going to look to propose legislation and in the end, the real power of Congress, the real power of the legislative branch is the power of the purse,” House Judiciary Committee Chairman Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan explained. “And we’re going to have to use that both on this issue where we think the government’s been targeting the very people it’s supposed to serve. But also, frankly, on the border.”
Speaking at a campaign-style rally, Joe Biden lied about Republicans falsely claiming the GOP wanted to defund the police.
Biden then demanded the GOP pass the budget Biden introduced.
“Last week, I laid out in my budget that we invest more in safer communities and expand access to mental health services for those affected by gun violence,” Biden ranted. “Congressional Republicans should pass my budget instead of calling for cuts in these services or defunding the police or abolishing the FBI as we hear from our MAGA Republican friends.”
Biden’s budget is a complete nonstarter for Congressional Republicans as it spends a whopping $6.9 trillion and imposes $5.5 trillion in new job-killing, economy-crushing taxes.
That budget will get exactly zero Republican votes.
But Biden knows the media will repeat his lies without ever fact-checking him.
And that’s why Biden wants to set up a fake contrast by lying about Republicans wanting to defund the police, whereas Biden will supposedly “protect” social security and medicare.
