Joe Biden’s regime is falling apart at the seams.
He can’t afford to deal with another problem.
Now Joe Biden is in hot water after a top regime official let this truth slip.
Drivers are feeling unprecedented pain at the pump from Joe Biden’s extremist environmental agenda.
Instead of unleashing American energy to bring down prices, he’s flailed around and blamed everyone else for the problem he created.
Of course, Biden is never going to let a crisis go to waste in his efforts to fundamentally transform the country.
While drivers are getting hammered by soaring gas prices, the Biden regime is pushing electric vehicles as the solution to their problems.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg let the truth slip on the regime’s plan to use high gas prices to shove electrical vehicles down the country’s throat.
Buttigieg testified before the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee about the regime’s plan to transition the country to “clean energy production.”
Biden recently set the goal of having half of all new vehicles on the market be electric by 2030.
Buttigieg was asked about how drivers could offset the financial hit from high gas prices.
“The more pain we are all experiencing from the high price of gas, the more benefit there is for those who can access electric vehicles,” Buttigieg said.
“So you’re saying the more pain we have, the more benefit we’re gonna get?” Representative Carlos Gimenez asked. “I think that’s what I heard you say.”
Buttigieg hedged by replying, “of course – no, no, that’s what you heard me say. I know you want me to say it so bad but honestly, sir, what we’re saying is we could have no pain at all by making EVs cheaper for everyone.”
Joe Biden wants high gas prices to speed along his plan for forcing drivers into electrical vehicles.
The pain of high gas prices is the point for the environmental wackos.
Later in the hearing, Thomas Massie pointed out a major flaw in Biden’s electric vehicle schemes to Buttigieg.
“It would take four times as much electricity to charge the average household’s cars as the average household uses on air conditioning,” Massie said.
“So if we reach the goal by 2030 that Biden has, of a fifty percent adoption [of electric vehicles] instead of one hundred percent adoption, that means the average household would use twice as much electricity charging one of their cars as they would use for all of the air conditioning that they use for the entire year,” Massie added.
With the price of electricity soaring from the transition to renewable energy, the switch to electric vehicles would be even more costly as demand for electricity soars.
While Biden dreams of transitioning the country to electric vehicles, this is a green delusion.
The average price of an electric vehicle is nearly $60,000, and the rare earth metals needed for their batteries can’t even keep with the current demand.
But no matter how much pain it causes, Joe Biden is hellbent on forcing his Green New Deal policies on America.
