Now a new Defense Department Inspector General report revealed that the United States left behind more than $7 billion worth of military equipment in Afghanistan.
The report said America lost $923.3 million worth of aircrafts and $294.6 million worth of munitions for the planes.
316,260 small arms, including machine guns, sniper rifles, and grenade launchers, were also abandoned in the country.
In addition, $4 billion worth of military vehicles, including Humvees, armored personnel carriers, and other tactical vehicles, were left behind in Afghanistan.

According to American intelligence, the Taliban government has gone back to supporting terrorists after taking control of Afghanistan.
And former C.I.A. intelligence officer David Shedd says this American weaponry could now be exploited by terrorists.
“The exploitation of the material left behind is not only in the hands of the Taliban, but is also available to other terrorist groups such as the Haqqani network since they are part of the Taliban regime,” Shedd explained.
The Haqqani network is an Islamic terrorist group connected to the Taliban and al-Qaeda.
Shedd warned that al-Qaeda and other terrorists “could have access to the American military equipment left behind in Afghanistan based on informal ties that most likely remain unchanged between the Taliban and terrorists not formally part of the Afghan regime.”
