Thanksgiving is a time for celebration with friends and family.

But the holiday will be more stressful this year for many.

And Joe Biden is in hot water for delivering Americans this punch in the gut for Thanksgiving.

President Joe Biden unleashed the worst inflation crisis in four decades after spending trillions of dollars on his extreme agenda.

Inflation is going to leave a sour taste in the mouths of Americans celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday this year.

And the average price of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner will be the most expensive in history courtesy of Biden’s failed economic policies.

The price of food has gone through the roof since Biden took office and the traditional Thanksgiving spread wasn’t spared.

This year the cost of a Thanksgiving dinner is up a staggering 26% since January 2021 based on data compiled by Biden’s own Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

Heritage Foundation research fellow E.J. Antoni told the Daily Caller News Foundation that Biden’s economic agenda, dubbed “Bidenomics” by the President, is going to make the traditional holiday meal the most expensive yet.

“After two and a half years of abnormally high price increases, Americans are left with the most expensive Thanksgiving ever,” Antoni said. “As the White House’s mouthpieces like to say, ‘That’s Bidenomics in action!’ Today’s higher prices are the direct result of the federal government spending, borrowing, and printing trillions of dollars, all urged on by the Biden administration and made possible by their big-spender allies in Congress (from both parties) and a complicit Federal Reserve.”

The cost of a turkey jumped by 31.2% based on the BLS data for uncooked poultry excluding chicken from Biden’s inauguration to October 2023.

Sauces and gravies, which are a staple of Thanksgiving dinner, increased by 14.6% over the same period.

Rolls and stuffing increased by 26.1% based on the BLS’s bread category and potatoes, used in popular dishes like mashed potatoes, rose by 14.6% under Biden.

Prices have skyrocketed for consumers by an astounding 17.1% since Biden entered the White House in 2021.

Real wages for workers have dropped by 2.1% under the President according to data from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

Families will be forced to make some tough choices about putting on their traditional Thanksgiving celebration according to Antoni.

“What is a family to do at this time of year when they’re already drowning in credit card debt and faced with such sharp price increases? I suspect some will cut back, either inviting fewer guests or serving less food, perhaps less expensive food,” Antoni said. “Others may go further into credit card debt. It is heartbreaking that during this time of year when we’re supposed to be giving thanks for our abundance in the wealthiest country on earth, families are instead forced to cut back.”

There’s no denying that for many families Thanksgiving will have a little less cheer this year with Americans’ wallets being stretched thin from the massive price increases created by Joe Biden.
